Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to APM Heating & Plumbing. These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of plumbing and heating services by APM Heating & Plumbing (“we”, “our”, “us”) to you as the client (“you”, “your”). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services Provided

We offer a comprehensive range of domestic and commercial heating and plumbing services, including but not limited to:

Heating system installations and repairs & Upgrades

Boiler servicing, Breakdowns and repairs and replacements.

Bathroom design and installation and upgrades

Underfloor heating systems (wet i.e heat supplied from a boiler)

General plumbing installations, repairs, maintenance and upgrades

Emergency 24/hour callout service: additional callout charge apply.

All work will be carried out to industry standards and in accordance with relevant UK regulations.

3. Quotations and Pricing

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

Prices are subject to change if the scope of work changes or additional issues are identified during the job.

VAT (if applicable) will be added to all prices quoted.

A written estimate will be provided before any work is undertaken.

4. Booking and Cancellations

Appointments are made subject to availability.

We require at least 72 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice may be subject to a call-out fee.

5. Access and Site Conditions

It is your responsibility to ensure safe access to the work area.

We reserve the right to refuse work if the area is unsafe or presents health and safety risks.

You agree to provide necessary utilities (water, gas, electricity) for us to complete our work.

6. Payment Terms

For domestic customers, payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise agreed.

For commercial clients, payment terms are 14 days from the date of invoice unless stated differently in the contract.

Late payments may incur interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

7. Guarantees and Warranties

All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.

Manufacturer warranties apply to parts and materials used.

Guarantees do not cover issues arising from misuse, neglect, or interference by third parties.

8. Liability

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our control.

We are not responsible for pre-existing faults in your plumbing or heating systems.

While we take care to avoid damage, we are not responsible for accidental damage to décor or fixtures during necessary work unless due to negligence.

9. Emergency Call-Outs

Emergency services are subject to availability and will be charged at a premium rate.

We aim to respond promptly, but timing cannot be guaranteed.

Emergency callout is to make safe and does not mean full repair. due to materials that may be required.

10. Insurance

10.1. Professional Accreditation

All gas work is carried out by a qualified engineer registered with Gas Safe and OFTEC, in compliance with UK regulations and industry standards. Proof of registration can be provided on request.

10.2. Legal Compliance

We only carry out work that complies with the latest Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and OFTEC guidelines. Unsafe appliances or systems may be condemned or shut down if deemed dangerous, in accordance with legal requirements.

10.3. Certification

Where applicable, appropriate certificates (e.g., Gas Safety Certificates, Commissioning Certificates, Building Regulation Notifications) will be issued after work is completed and full payment is received.

10.4. Safety Advice

You will be advised of any safety issues identified during inspections or servicing. It is your responsibility to act on recommendations made to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.

10.5. Insurance

As a Gas Safe and OFTEC registered engineer, we are fully insured for both domestic and commercial work. Public liability insurance covers all work undertaken.

10.6. Liability

We are not liable for any damage or loss caused by pre-existing faults, misuse, or third-party interference. We reserve the right to refuse to work on unsafe or non-compliant installations. We are fully insured with public liability insurance and Professional Indemnity insurance for your peace of mind. Proof of insurance can be provided on request.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our services, please contact us within 7 days of the completed work. We will aim to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Terms and Conditions

1. Payment Terms


1.1 Invoicing & Payment Due Dates: All invoices issued by APM Heating & Plumbing are due for payment upon completion of work or invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties.


1.2 Late Payment Fees: Should payment not be received by the specified due date, a late payment fee of 8% per week (7 days) will be applied to the outstanding balance.

1.3 Suspension of Services: In the event that payment remains overdue, APM Heating & Plumbing reserves the right to suspend any ongoing or future works until full payment has been received.


1.4 Debt Collection: If payment remains outstanding beyond (14 days), APM Heating & Plumbing may refer the matter to a debt collection agency. Any costs incurred in the collection of outstanding payments, including legal fees, will be added to the balance owed.

2. Limitation of Liability for Existing Pipework and Appliances


2.1 Condition of Existing Installations: APM Heating & Plumbing does not accept responsibility for the condition of existing pipework, appliances, or other systems unless explicitly stated in the service agreement. Any pre-existing installations are considered the responsibility of the client.


2.2 Failure or Malfunction of Existing Systems: APM Heating & Plumbing will not be held liable for the failure, leakage, or damage of existing pipework, appliances, or systems that were not replaced, repaired, or explicitly addressed as part of the agreed scope of work.


2.3 No Warranty on Pre-Existing Systems: In instances where work is carried out on systems that are aged or in poor condition, no warranty will be provided for the continued operation of those pre-existing systems.


2.4 Client Notification of Risk: APM Heating & Plumbing will make every reasonable effort to inform clients of any potential risks associated with existing installations. However, it remains the client's responsibility to take appropriate action should they wish to replace or upgrade any elements of the system identified as being at risk of failure.

3. General Terms and Conditions


3.1 Access & Delay: The client is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the property requiring service are easily accessible and free from obstruction. APM Heating & Plumbing reserves the right to charge for any delays caused by the client’s failure to provide the necessary access.


3.2 Standard of Work: All work carried out by APM Heating & Plumbing will be completed in compliance with the relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations.


3.3 Amendments to Work Scope: Any changes or amendments to the scope of work must be agreed upon by both parties in writing before proceeding.


3.4 Force Majeure: APM Heating & Plumbing shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to, acts of nature, strikes, or government intervention.

4. Ownership of Materials


4.1 Ownership Retention: All materials supplied by APM Heating & Plumbing for the purposes of installation or repair remain the property of APM Heating & Plumbing until payment for the full invoice amount is received and cleared.


4.2 Non-Payment and Recovery: If payment is not received in full by the specified due date, APM Heating & Plumbing reserves the right to reclaim any materials supplied, even if they have already been installed.


4.3 Liability for Materials: Until the invoice is paid in full, the client agrees to take proper care of all materials provided and assumes liability for any damage, loss, or theft.
